True. I can't find a preset bar for the track motion box either. I did notice that the composite setting gives a custom... option which provides some interesting bump, height, and displacement plugins. Those have preset fields, but not the main tracking box.

I also noticed a nice history list under the 'undo' arrow.

I've been meaning to mention this for a while, but your reply, SonyIMC, reminded me. It's really nice to see that prompt feedback and replies from the software team are still here, despite the Sony purchase. I was really concerned at the time of the purchase that these forums would end up like so many others - full of users asking questions that the company never answers.

Keep it up! :-)

All the best,

Very true....now if we could only get the update.
I found this thread by searching for an answer to how do you make a lower third? I've got to mask over a CG script with new CG script. In V4 I used to simply put a generated text media with a colored background above the old track, crop it, type in the new text and then drag it to the bottom using track motion. Now if I drag the little box to the bottom nothing happens, it doesn't move on my preview...am I overlooking something?
TIA,
Randy

Make sure you have 'Show Fx' button active. Located above the preview window. John

Thanks John,
Do you mean THE preview window or the preview window of track motion? Either way I can't find this button.
Thanks again John,
Randy

The preview window, on the main interface. Mine was inactive after loading V5. I just double checked. It actually is the icon that looks like a split and half faded dot with a drop down arrow to its right. (Next to the display preview quality drop down list).

Select the half faded dot drop down arrow, and the selection is the first, and actually says, 'Fx bypassed'.

Selected means your Fx will not be displayed.
No selection indicator means your Fx will be displayed. John.

I'm confused John, I thought that just turned the split screen on and off....no?
Thanks,
Randy
