Hardware, software. What's your budget?????????

probably the best reverb i have used is the
Spin Audio RoomVerm M2 (v. 2.0)....it's realy amazing and sound quality is fantastic. you can change everything from "fullness" of early and late reflections to the materials the walls are made of and how absorbant they are. it also comes with almost 200 presets that are all nice. i highly recomed it.

Wave Arts makes a nice sounding DX reverb. Their bungle also has an EQ and dynamics processor at an afforfable price. Try some demos.

There are free revb plugs available also from Anwida, RGB, Dreampoint, Blueline and others. Check out http://www.thedirectxfiles.com/plugins.htm#Manufacturers for more free and not so free plug-ins.

Highly doubtful that you will get this from a software verb in your budget. I would recommend a used Alesis Wedge. Probably under $100 on ebay now and they really can be made to sound excellent. Very easy editing and you can get quite deep into the parameters. I have 2 of them that I use all the time along with my primary verb - a Lexicon PCM 80.

Did I mention Lexicon 480L or PCM90 yet? If you want the best, that's the best and like all things that are good, it will cost you a few dollars. This is why you will see these devices in almost every major recording studio.

Red: do you know where I might pick up one of these for $250?? (just kidding of course) ;-D
I paid $850 for my PCM80 (excellent cond) a couple of years ago which was clearly a very good deal. They are still going for around $1000 or so. Yes the good stuff costs. . .
