Hi!

I am completely neophyte with audio manipulation. I have a little problem. I recorded a meeting but my microphone was really too near of my mouth and this results in a kind of sound very loud and not really audible.

Is there a way to correct this recording with SoundForge? I just need a hint to start my researchs.

Thanks

Melanie

I'm assuming the sound is so loud it's distorted. Probably the only help for it is the Clipped Peak Restoration module of the Noise Reduction 2.0 package, and even this won't help a lot.

you are probably clipping but if you don't have the noise reduction software that includes clipped peak restoration you might try using a graphic EQ plugin and drop all the bass below 200-300 out. This won't cure the distortion but it may give you some clarity.
