I'm a previous wavlab user, but for the life of me i cannot find out how to change the volume of a file I'm auditioning, in wavlab there are stereo faders on the volume meter but I can't find the equivalent in soundforge's manual or helpfiles. I'm not talking about changing the volume of an audio file as a process, I know how to do that , I'm only talking about changing the volume while I'm listening to various files while auditioning samples. |

Use the output or 'Wave' volume control in the sound card's mixer control panel. |

I find this solution not very practical. Users of MOTU 2408 audio card or RME 96/52 simply cannot do it since the we do not have softmixer to control the volume. Suggest that SONY add this feature in the next revision or release of SoundForge. |

"I find this solution not very practical. " I don't find it very practical either. Thus, why I have a mixing board connected to my sound card with a "monitor" volume control on it, to turn the volume up and down. On my work laptop I have a cheap set of PC speakers, that are self powered and have a "volume" control on them. It's very simple to adust my volume control on those speakers and I never have to go into the Windows mixer section to adjust any levels. I recommend, spending the 20 bucks if you're having problems. |
