Subject:sound forge crashing

i running version 5.0 and I'm trying to record some mixing with sound forge but i get about half an hour into recording and the computer just crashes and that blue error screen comes up saying "Driver Irql not less or equal" I thought i might be running out of memory but i have 1 gb of ram
.this same problem occurs when i use the program ARwizard as well.
if anyone could help much appreciated

I don't know what soundcard you are using,but this blue screen has the apparent stench of a bad soundcarddriver.Update it,tweak it,buy another soundcard if you have to.What OS do you have? I had some bad, bad experiences with Hoontech DSP24(and some minor problems with my current M Audio Audiophile 2496) before my Windows 2000 was updated from Servicepack 2 to SP4.Might help a tad ,too.Ofcourse I ditched the Hoontech-it was unreliable and thus unworkable.
