Does anyone know of an ACID 4 compatible VST soft synth that just plays normal instrument sounds. JH |

Sampletank, Plugsound, Edirol (Orchestral, Super Quartet, Hyper Canvas, Virtual Sound Canvas). These are all compatible with Acid, provided you use a DXi wrapper like FXpansion. Actually, Sampletank 2 has a DXi component, and excellent sounds. |

If all you want is sample playback, why not use the DLS synth in ACID? If you don't like the sound set, there are others available. If you want a VSTi sampler, the NI samplers are very good. You should also have a look at MOTU's MACH5. It is very good. Peter |

Sampletank has a free version you can try: http://www.kvr-vst.com/get/141.html BTW, to clarify Waskel's comments: Acid plays VST instruments and DX effects. |

I believe AWave can translate Akai to DLS, along with many other formats. Peter |
