When I process some dialog using batch converter, my video Editng system shows inaudible peaks on the meters at the start of many of the files. There is almost nothing going on at the start of the files. As mentioned elsewhere, the processing sequence is NR, then RMS normalization. I don't think batch convert has a control for zero crossings but is this possibly the culprit? The original unprocessed files don't do this. In fact, I believe when I had NR AFTER normaization, this didn't occur. |

Looking at the processed files in SF6, i am not seeing the peaks in the quiet beginning as seen in the video editor. BUT..the SF meter indicates overs when the visual waveform looks below clipping. It is close, but I thought the dynamic compression was supposed to prevent overs. Mayeb th eover meter lights slightly before true over? As for the peaks visible in the video editor, before I batched the files(see above), I muted unwanted header and faded up to wanted dialog. Is there a problem with the processing after a mute? Any other ideas? I'm stumped. |
