Here's the deal: I can hear and see the Recorded tracks, I hear and see the tracks on Preview and when I right click to Properties I see and hear the track - but if I just drop a .wav file onto a track it makes a new track but it's neither visible or can I hear it!!

WINXP Acid 4.0d Pro

What's going on here?
TIA!!

Per earlier comments, is this a purchased copy?

Nope - second day of 30 day trial - would this make a differance? Is the paid version more functional?

In other words this is a dis-function of the Trial Vesrion?

After you "drop" the .wav in you have to draw it like any other track in Acid.

no....

when you "drop" a .wav to your track, you need to either select the pencil or paintbrush tool and hold down your mouse button and actually "draw" your waveform in. (drag to the right obviously)

(sofos trials are all FULLY working programs, except for time limitations. as far as i know of anyway. cd architect doesnt let you save, thats it i think)

Adding to what marc said, once you add a track to your project, you must draw or paint in what's called an "event". This is an instance of audio that plays back at any specified point the audio was painted/drawn on the timeline.

In addition to having to draw the event (and perhaps because of this) you cannot have different files on the same track. That's why you're getting a new track when you drag a .wav file onto the timeline.
