Has anyone had any expirience with gina 20 bit card and Acid 4.0 under windows XP. Iam using the 20bit Gina with windows 98se on a pII-350 and Iam geting a new 2.8 mz P4 so Iam wondering if should I be buying the 24 bit Mia since it has newer drivers??? Cheers............ |

Have you contacted echo? They have been good to respond to when I emailed them. |

There are betas available for the Gina 20 bit for 2000/XP. You should be OK. You could pick up a MiaMIDI anyway and use it to augment what you already have. (Doesn't Echo's driver model allow for multiple audio interfaces? I don't know offhand.) Iacobus ------- RodelWorks - Original Music for the Unafraid mD's ACIDplanet Page Guitars 4 Kids |

Not sure if there ii going to be enough of a difference in quality from the 20 Gina to the 24bit Mia to justify 320$ canadian ? |

>>Not sure if there ii going to be enough of a difference in quality from the 20 Gina to the 24bit Mia to justify 320$ canadian ? << Well of course the answer to this is totally subjective. The question I would be asking is whether you need the extra outputs that the Gina has. If you do then clearly you need to stay with the Gina. If not, I personally would move to a 24 bit card. For me, the upgrade from the Layla20 to a 24 was dramatic. However, you may wish to add the Mia but there's been some confusion whether Echo's 20 bit and 24 bit cards do well together on all systems. I would run this by an Echo tech and make sure to give them a detailed description of your system and apps. HTH, drbam |
