I have the .sfg files, and tried to import these files, but nothing seemed to work, including the Preset Manager. The only I could get them back, was to write a .reg file as shown below. This is the supported method of backing up and restoring presets in our software. If you back up your presets periodically using the Preset Manager, you can restore them using the same utility with little or no trouble at all. If you never back them up, restoration may be impossible, though you seem to have found a way that works for you.
