Subject:Recording new track is merging other tracks?

Hi Guys

I have Acid Pro 4 and an Audigy card. I have my electric plugged into the Line In. I have drums loops on a CD.

What is happening is that I have the drum loop on a track and what to record my guitar into another track through the line in. This works fine but the track I end up with has also recorded the drums into it.

I cannot find a setting to limit the record to the line in only. The driver is using Microsoft Sound Mapper. Others in the list are Creative ASIO but when I changed to that it said it did not support the sampling rate

Can anyone tell me how if possible I can record a clean track through the line in without this merging behaviour?

Cheers!

Have you ever noticed how often this problem comes up, and it's seems it's always Creative cards. Hummmmmmmmmm....
