Is there a way to record the output from Reason to a track in Acid? (other than rendering the Reason song as a wav file and then opening it up in Acid)

Are you using ACID Pro 4.0? It has ReWire 2.0 support.

I've just recently started using Reason w/Acid 4, and I haven't needed that. Have you checked the manual? I think you can do it.

You can definitely, say, render to a new track in ACID with Reason ReWired to it (just like you can render a VSTi soft synth to a new track).

Using 4f by the way. OK here's what I want to do again: I have already written part of the song I am working on in Reason by itself. What I want to do is open up Reason in Acid, play the already recorded song, and render it to a track, i.e. record it to a track in Acid.

What version of Acid are you using? If you don't have 4.0 your only option is rendering to audio. With 4.0 you as it's been stated, Rewire Reason into Acid...
As much as I love Acid I'd suggest using Cubase or Sonar, they're far better for that kind of work...Level Vibes
