Lost some of my preferred chain setups, due ghosting of the register database.

I have the .sfg files, and tried to import these files, but nothing seemed to work, including the Preset Manager.

The only I could get them back, was to write a .reg file as shown below.

Is it correct, that this is the only way the get our valuable presets into the application?

The Preset Manager will allow you to back up your presets and chains to a single file that can be imported in the future. This is the supported method of backing up and restoring presets in our software. If you back up your presets periodically using the Preset Manager, you can restore them using the same utility with little or no trouble at all. If you never back them up, restoration may be impossible, though you seem to have found a way that works for you.
