Subject:Problems with ACID 4.0 and m-audio Ozone

I experiment clicks and audio dropouts during sessions with m-audio Ozone USB controlling VST instruments on ACID 4. I've a laptop with:

Athlon 2400+ barton
512 mb ddr ram
30 gb HD (3 partitions 10gb)
Ati video 64 mb shared

I've tweaked my pc in the ways suggested by musicxp.net exept for the ACPI mode that is active.

I've tried to lift the latency buffer of the soundcard but the situation doesn't appear to get better.

I had the same problems trying the soundcard on the Ableton Live 3.0 demo.

Thanxx

Try downloading the latest driver from M-Audio. I tried the Ozone, but was dissappointed so I took it back and got the Oxygen/ with the Audiophile USB and have had better luck. I know it's more cash, but this was the only way I could get decent sound/latency. Luceses

Ensure that the USB controller that the Ozone is on is not sharing IRQ's with other devices in your system.

Similarly, ensure that no other USB devices are on the same USB controller as the Ozone.

High-quality audio commands a lot of USB bandwidth, especially over USB 1.1. Even a little activity being done by other devices can throw your Ozone off.

Ok guys, thankyou very much, I'll go trying your hints...

I've the latest driver installed and no other USB device connected while using the Ozone.

Now I'll check more infos about tweaking IRQs (B4 doing any damage to my set up!!!) and I'll report you about my goals.

THANX
