1. How do you change the Default VSTi search path (it points to a folder that doesn't exist!) can it be done, if it's not possiblethen it sucks. don't get me wrong I love acid but c'mon! you should be able to do so. read below to see why... 2. When you remove a synth (uninstall it) Acid inserts the Sony DLS Synth in projects containing the synth in question, I reinstalled my synth (Sonic Charge MIcrotonic) but Acid won't recognize it (even if both alternate VSTi search paths point to the folder containing the microtonic) Both FLstudio and Tracktion detect the plugin, but Acid keep seeing it as a Sony DLS Soft Synth no matter what I do or where I install the plug (I've rescanned the VSTi folders like ten times, I've rebooted.). Is there a way other than reinstalling Acid (I'm not sure if this would do the trick) to reset the apps plugin settings? I know you can't from within Acid preferences. is there some sort of preferences or ini file I can delete to achieve this? Thanks in advanced. |

Check your Acid manual on soft synths, and try doing a search in this forum. You raise several issues and I'm not sure where to start. But let me say that VStis generally work well in Acid. Some synth eadit creations have problems. |

In your registry locate: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Sony Media Software\ACID\4.0\Metrics\VSTi Synth or HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Sonic Foundry\ACID\4.0\Metrics\VSTi Synth if you have an older update. Add a new String value (type REG_SZ) and label it S0 Then set the value to the path that you want as your default. This will change the default search path. Peter |

I've succesfully cahanged my default VSti's folder search path but Acid still sees the Microtonic as a DLS synth - what can I do? |

i once came into a similar situation. i deleted all values under the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Sonic Foundry\ACID\4.0\Metrics\VSTi Synth\Plugs and reopened acid and this caused it to recognize all vsti plugins again. export first the key, before you delete - just to be safe ;-) |
