hello there whenever i create a song with acid i mostly start with a kickbass line. i set the track volume to 0db and also the master volume to 0db. then the kick sounds exactly as i want. whenever i add a track to acid, the master level gets over 0db and then i reduce it to not reach red level, means peak is set to 0db max. but then the whole sound looses it's pressure and power, specially the kickbass. i was playing with some compressors and i noticed that it seems to be ok when i put a compressor on the master output and let it at 0db. sadly this messes up the other tracks and whole song sounds not nice anymore. does anyone have a tipp how i can get full pressure out of acid, specially for kicks?? thx |

You shouldn't try to adjust the Master volume level; adjust it at the track level instead. Mixing is quite the involved task (as you've found out). You will have to experiment to find the best results. You will almost always want to master a project in something like Sound Forge as the final stage with a compressor of some sort.
