Lately, I've not only been audio recording in ACID with no problems but I've also been laying down MIDI tracks as well. No problem. Question: Can I save the output of an ACID project as a MIDI file? I looked through the doc and it wasn't explicit. You can't export it, render, nor Save as. The closest I ever came to at least see a .MID on a panel was Insert a Midi track but I could never get any data into the file. Is there a way to do this? Thanx everyone. |

as far as i know, acid has no way of exporting out to a midi file. or saving existing .wav tracks to midi. in fact, i dont know of any program which can do this. good luck -marc |

you can export by midi track ... open its track properties and on the top right corner you have two buttons available to choose , either to "save" as it is or "save as" a new file. |

Plastique thanks a million. And Marcarotsky, you can save your midi as audio as long as you want to do it through a plug in. |

MIDI is an altogether different audio monster vs. digital audio. MIDI is just a set of instructions (making it flexible enough that you can send it through different soft synths using the same MIDI file), while digital audio is the audio itself represented by a digital waveform; what you hear is what you get. MIDI will never render with the rest of your project unless it's routed to a soft synth of some sort (like a DLS, VSTi, or ReWire synth). Essentially, the MIDI becomes digital audio after it gets thrown through a soft synth. Iacobus ------- RodelWorks - Original Music for the Unafraid mD's ACIDplanet Page |
