Subject:Acid Licensed to Cakewalk?

Has Acid been Licensed to Cakewalk? Someone I know told me that but I'm skeptical. If so, how will it be used? As a previewer, editor...or will you be able to run the whole program through Cakewalk?

Just wondering. =)

2) Will Acid Outputs ever work through Logic/Cubase Mixer? Ya know, arrange in Acid...mixdown through Logic or Cubase...stuff like that.

Incredibly, Cakewalk is able to utilize the Acid/Sony "Acidized file" process license-free. How SF did not make it proprietary from the getgo is way beyond me--looks like they missed out on a billion-dollar business.

But if you look at Rewire, MP3, WAV files, etc, they are just standards offered to the public domain, so I guess you could say Acid is in that category.

I'm not quite sure myself. I've heard SONAR's timestretching (as an example) isn't quite as good as ACID's when it comes to ACIDized loops...

Can Logic or Cubase's respective mixers accept hardware input? If so, I'd imagine you could just send the tracks in ACID to a Bus, which would send the tracks to a specific hardware output back to your hardware inputs. (Sounds too funky to me though.)

What Acid does to MIDI, Sonar does to acidized waves. Own them both. Love them both. But each bats about .075 in the other's ballpark.
