Subject:Free drum samples too fast?

I downloaed the awesome free drum samples from http://www.natural-studio.co.uk/ns_kit.htm , 198 mb. after unzipping. Really pro stuff but some of the snares and hh have a bpm of over 400. They sound odd when playing lower, kind of a roll sound. I know I can take them to Sound Forge and redo them as one-offs but I am wondering if there is any other way to make them behave?

All single hits should be acidized as one-shots.
Otherwise they will show artifacts played outside their tempo range as you've noticed.
