I wish there was a way to reverse an audio file in Acid in realtime without having to process it in SF, then refresh your explorer in Acid, and then bring the file into the project. Is this a feature that may be added in the future?

nope...and i've always thought it was strange that you can chop up a phrase change the timing, rearrange, pitch-shift, effect and pan all in real time with acid but it won't just play the damn sound in reverse. i guess none of the acid programmers use cymbal swells or have needed to edit the curse words out of a vocal. not to mention cool reverse echo effects on guitar and vocals.

REAL-TIME REVERSE IS LONG OVERDUE GUYS.

but i still love your app...keep up the good work.

There was talk of a reverse feature in ACID before, but I imagine a couple of things stopped it from being developed, the main reason being that it would take a lot of processing if done in real time. (Don't forget ACID has to do timestretching in real time as well, an already intensive task.)

Adding to that, I imagine less powerful machines might have a problem with it.

this shouldn't be an argument. VSTi support is poor for those with lousy systems as well. even FX plugins are a real pain for low end computers, yet both features are in ACID. a simple reversal of a sample is so basic i'm surprised it's not already a feature. a definite must-have for ACID 5.

Yeah, but you're asking ACID to essentially reverse a digital waveform in real time. That's really no easy task, especially with high-quality audio.

If it makes into ACID Pro 5.0, all the more power to Sony. IMHO, I wouldn't call it a must-have though.

My $0.02 is that they need to do it. It's a cool musical effect and would be a nice addition to the tools in ACID. The rest is for the engineers to figure out.
