I am having some trouble burning a wav file to a CD. I recorded a continuous mix from myturntables and mixer to my computer. I have marked the start of each track and cut each one into it's own file and saved them individually. When I cut one of the tracks, an asterisk popped up next to the file name (ie-track1*.wav). When I try to burn the entire CD it cannot open the file with the asterisk. Can anyone help me with this. I am trying to burn a demo CD and this is the only thing holding me up. - Keith |

Can you rename the file in Windows Explorer to get rid of the asterisk? |

Make sure you are saving the file as 44.1 Khz and not 48 Khz. Also make sure you do not include metadata when you save the file. What program are you using to burn the CD? |

An asterisk next to the filename indicates that the file has been modified and not yet saved. You aren't saying that you saved it with an asterisk at the end, are you? That would be impossible in windows - an asterisk is a wildcard meaning 0 or more characters and is not a valid character for a file name. Are you seeing an asterisk in the Nero compilation window or in sf? |

I was mistaken, the asterisk was not there in the file name. There was another problem with the file, but I figured it out. Thanks for the help. |
