What is the best way to free up the processor, when you have too many plugin's running at the same time and on multiple tracks. I have a great set up as is, but I want to avoid buying an external processor to run my effects and soft synths. In ACID, can I write the effect into the loop or final track "wave" (without resampling) and then remove the plugin to free up speed? I know this is not ideal for mixing but it may help with most effects or compressors. Any other tricks? |

set markers around and solo all the effect-heavy tracks which you think you like to have mixed down and choose 'render as' in the file dialog. there you check the boxes 'render loop region only' (but be aware if you use long effects like delays !) and 'save each track as separate file'. afterwards you can reimport those tracks which will integrate well in your current song. the unused fx's can then be turned off or be replaced , same apllies to vstis. |

You can also use your buses for more global effects, like reverb. |

Very true! The thing is that "Waves" plugin's make acid chug after 2-4 FX's |

Waves plugins make everything chug. What version of Waves do you have? The older versions were terrible in performance. Peter |
