I need to find an app that helps me record the output of Chainer into ACID. Any suggestions? 512MB/2.5P4/WinXP/Ozone |

Usually, you can record whatever's playing in another app into ACID by choosing your soundcard's software mixer as the type of recording input. How it's listed amongst the inputs is all dependent upon your soundcard. (For instance, it's "What U Hear" for Sound Blaster-type cards.) Thanks but ACID only lists Microsoft Mapper. Besides that, I want to record from/to any of several programs. |

Odd. Are you using ACID Pro 4.0? (What's your soundcard/audio interface?) As I've said, you can usually record what's playing in another program as long as you're able to select your soundcard's software mixer as the type of recording input. Forget I used the word "ACID" and follow me for a moment: I'm on the road without my sophisticated audio rig. Instead I have to make due with a laptop and USB audio. What I seek is a software version of an audio patchbay. Then when I use audio an audio app that does not have or allow stream routing, I'll have an external device to do it with. I remember a program called "Virtual Audio Cable" that did basically what you want. It's not much different than our Virtual MIDI Router, except that it routes audio between programs. I never used it much, so I don't know what kind of bugs/driver support you can expect. I think this is it: http://www.ntonyx.com/vac.htm |

Ahh, I think I see. Since the Ozone doesn't have a software mixer of some sort, that's probably why you can't select it as the type of input. What about your laptop's intergrated sound's mixer? Any chance that might be available? (Doubt it, though.) Might want to try Nate's suggestion. HTH, Iacobus ------- RodelWorks - Original Music for the Unafraid mD's ACIDplanet Page |

Thanks guys. I also thought Virtual Audio Cable might do it for me but I was wrong. The only thing its demo is good for is a headache. A program called River Past Audio Capture kinda works but it records all audio including that which I am playing to so I'm downloading the ToyBear plug now. I'll let yall know. Meanwhile, keep the ideas coming. |

Looks like River Past is the only thing that comes close for this rig. I can't wait to get back in my studio... |
