running win 2k all drives are NTFS - 180 gb free space available

i have 5 hours worth of audio that i'm trying to render (300 minutes equals about 3040 Megs)

when it hits 2gb i get the following error message

an error occured while creating the media file 4.wav

The file being rendered has exceeded the maximum size allowed for the selected format.

i'm rendering at 44.1khz stereo 16 bit.

i need to render this by tomorrow

why dont you cut it in half and then put it back together after the rendering process...

This is a hard limit for wave files regardless of the file system you are using. You will have to render to a different format such as our wave64. Or render in parts.

What is the destination for this project?

*whew* I hope your recipient has a HUGE inbox! I think the largest email i've ever received was about 15MB. You're talking about a file over 200 times bigger. How long did it take to send? What sort of internet connection do you have? A T-1 line would need a minimum of 4.5 hours to send a 3GB file.

File was saved to a removable raptor drive then sent from a business ds-3 line - took a little over 5 minutes to send.

*whew* That's good then.

However, another thought occurs to me, although you've probably already found out if this is a problem or not ... only SONY's media software can open .w64 files. So your recipient will have to have ACID, Sound Forge, or Vegas in order to use the file.
