Unless you have another loop with an "ending/hold" on it, you've got a problem. Unfortunately, it's much easier to "stop" video than it is sound. A single frame of video stretched out give you a freeze frame. A single "frame" of audio extended out will just sound like a buzz.

There are a couple of ways you can try to cheat around it though.

First, if the loops is long enough, you could try to put it on a second track and fade the middle seciton in and out betwen the two tracks, giving you a "sustain" that you could then fade out. Success with this varies on the type of loop it is and how much you have to work with.

Another thing you can try is to throw some reverb on it at the very end, giving you a bit of a decay that can give a "hold" feeling to it.

Of course, another option is just to fade the song out...

Jessariah - Thanks for that . . I kinda thought about the sustain thingy . . nice ideas .. I was just thinking that maybe that this is such an obvious function needed, that people would have come up with a work-around .. . as you are suggesting . .

Adding to what Jesseriah's said, if you have Sound Forge, you can use its editing functions to create a sample that sounds like it's sustaining, but this isn't an exact science, and you'll have to do some experimentation.
