Sorry for the newbie question, but does Sound Forge 7 support recording multiple digital audio tracks layered on top of each other; i.e. strings over piano and drums? Their help and their PDF manual do not seem to list this seemingly essential topic anywhere. I'm using the demo on Windows 2000. |

No. SF is a stereo wave editor - no multitrack recording. For multitracking you need something like Vegas, Sonar, Cubase, ProFools, etc. Download the Vegas demo and try it out. drbam |

Sound Forge used to come with a cut-down version of Vegas (only 8 tracks) which is great for doing multi-tracking. Sony seem to have got rid of that, unfortunately. |

Or, you could go to screenblast.com and get Screenblast acid straight from the source. Better yet though is Vegas. ACID isn't really a multitrack recording application. It can only record one track at a time. |
