In a recent project, I rendered my vsti track as a 24 bit .wav file. W hile it was rendering I noticed that I had accidentally left the project bit rate at 16 bits. Will this in effect give me a 16 bit file. The properties of the rendered file said it was 24 bits but I wondered if the last 8 were simply 0's. Also, how does one check to see if this really is the case? What software do people use to check the 1's and 0's? Thanks, Dave |

The rendering settings are completely independent of the playback settings. So, to answer you question: You will get in your rendered file what ever you told ACID to render at. The playback settings are audio hardware specific. You can use a tool like Sound Forge to look a the audio. You wont be able to look at 1's and 0's, but Forge will tell you about the media. Peter |

Thanks for the quick response, Peter. I was thinking it was that way but wanted to be sure. Dave |
