Okay, here is the issue. I just bought a DELL laptop(Inspiron 5100). It is actually pretty cool! I am using Acid on it but in order to get better sound quality I have tried the M-Audio Ozone, and the Tascam US-122. The ASIO performance on both is very lackluster(although the Ozone is better) and I am not sure what else to try, because I am quickly going over budget! SOOO, will someone PLEASE tell me what you are using for a mobile setup as far as an external sound card/device. Unfortunately ASIO is a must for recording anyVSTi- midi stuff. If it wasn't for that, I would just use the onboard sound ,cause it ain't too bad!!! PLEASE chime in, Thanks, Luces.

I use a Edirol UA-20. It was pretty cheap and it is asio. It is workable, but I can't really recomend it. If you have USB2 or firewire I would go that way. The echo stuff look great but there is no midi on them. Do you need midi?

I am actually leaning toward the Echo Indigo b/c it's my understanding that even though USB 2.0 is fast, part of the reason for so much "noise" is b/c there are so many USB busses on the same IRQ's and it is going to be difficult to change those settings. I don't mind using midi via the USB, but I think it might be better for me to not have audio through it. Luces
