I'm certain there's a few people somewhere that could but for many fairly obvious reasons their not talking.

An expected date of release is always welcom! or atleast somekind of roadmap.
But I don't think that Sony will give an answer on these kind of questions.
They never do....it's there policy to keep all the new functions and dates for there self.
Perhaps that another big software company will steal there own already implemented features??!!
But anyway ...we can only wait and hope!

Dont confuse sony with SF when you say "But I don't think that Sony will give an answer on these kind of questions.

Sony as a pro audio company has always either put in what you expected in the first place, or been pretty frank about announcements of stuff they missed. Features were never an issue, as anything important was considered necessary, instead of "an option" as SF treats it. However, thats a pretty dull world, when you think about all the fun stuff you can do in vegas and acid.

I can tell you from what I've seen so far, Sony is even stricter about this information than Sonic Foundry was. That's all I can tell you for now, and I got a contract right here that says so. :-)

Are you a registered user? Therefore, they have all your contact information? I can tell you how I got involved. Basically, they contacted me through that information, I didn't contact them. It probably helped prior to this that I would send emails to their techsupport and these forums, which gave detailed information on recreating bugs that I had found. Don't think that being a beta tester gives you any say in anything, although I do give suggestions on the features they decided to impliment. You're there to test things out and make sure they're working properly and if they aren't you need to document step by step what you where doing, so they can recreate it and fix it. I think after I posted 10 bugs within the first 2 days of Sound Forge v5.0's release and then again with Vegas v2.0 after the release, they may have saw something useful to them.

They could certainly use more of this

But like red says, video might be the focus

And of course if more pro studios would be using the app things wouldnt hurt either. They probably need to strike a balance between one track at a time people and full on studios, but from this point, theyve shown they can satisfy the one track at a time folks, and its probably time for them to get out of the way and for SF to listen to record makers, at least on the audio side

I think they're on the right track now. I'm keeping a running score and thus far it's 11 to 12, in favor of the good guys. I think that's one of the reasons Peter posted the feature request post in the audio forum, to do some significant audio updates and see what us audio users are looking for.

From recent events (like having booths at tradeshows) and activities it's my impression that Sony is solidly behind the products. I'm very excited about the future of all of the tools, especially Vegas.

I was excited to talk to Sony/SoFo at the Government Video at DC, and the guy demo'ing the softs actually took down my info to offer me a chance to beta. I haven't heard from him though. That's okay. Vegas rules!
