Hi, is there any way to take a section of a song, like a middle section, and using that on a different track. Because all I can seem to do is paste the song from start to finish and drag the end to make it shorter! Thanks

select the area you want. at the first downbeat or vocal or whereever you want THAT part to start as its own sample, press "S" for split and then right click on the track and select "duplicate track" you will now have the area you want isolated and on the track beneath it, just move it to where you want it! (obviously delete the parts you dont need)

Adding to what marc mentioned, you could also set the Loop Region over the area you want on that track, solo the track, and use CTRL+M with the "render loop region only" option enabled to render to a new track.

This will allow you to manipulate and do whatever you want to the newly rendered track (like editing externally in Sound Forge) without affecting the original.

If you need to be more precise with the Loop Region, you can turn off snapping. (F8 toggles.)

If you have ACID Pro 3.0 or 4.0, you can also use its Chopper in a similar manner; just select what you want in the Chopper and use CTRL+M to chop to a new track. (Snapping can be toggled here too with F8.)
