I'm running Acid 4.0f on WinXP Pro. Both buttons "Custom..." and "About..." in the Render dialog do not display properly : only the start of the button is shown (some pixels, in fact). You can see the screen capture here. I have to resize the dialog window for the two buttons appear in full size. Any idea about the cause of this ? My computer is LifeBook Fujitsu-Siemens C-1020 - 256 MB RAM |

Did you try reducing or turning off video acceleration? Or updating your video drivers? HTH, Iacobus ------- RodelWorks - Original Music for the Unafraid mD's ACIDplanet Page |

Yes, I have already tried to reduce video acceleration. Nothing about video driver yet. But I'll try it. Thanks. |

I have tried to change the hardware acceleration parameters : same problem. I changed several settings (as color depth, font size, screen resolution) : same problem. I have installed the latest video driver (ProSavageDDR) dated december 2003 : same problem again... I have run Windows Update to get the newer patches : no change. Ok, it's not very annoying but anyway, I would like to know the reason of this problem and solve it. Maybe it's a bug in Windows XP ? Any idea, someone ? Screen capture here (two buttons "Custom..." and "About..." are partially displayed). |

I use Windows XP and don't have that problem. Maybe it has to do with the font and the video driver not being able to draw it properly? (Did this just start happening to you or was it always this way?) Iacobus ------- RodelWorks - Original Music for the Unafraid mD's ACIDplanet Page |

I still have this problem and I will contact Fujitsu-Siemens' Help Desk. I have added a new screen capture of the problem here. |

Obviously, there is NO SOLUTION to this problem. According to a software specialist I talked to, it's a problem between Windows GUI resources and the display device... Maybe... I'm still waiting for official information from Fujitsu-Siemens, though. |

It definitely sounds like a video redraw problem, Djipy. Most notebooks aren't exactly noted for their video capabilities (save for those using ATI or NVidia's video chips). -Iacobus ------- RodelWorks - Original Music for the Unafraid mD's ACIDplanet Page |

On a French forum, I talked with a user who has exactly the same problem. That user has contacted the support and it seems that the problem is known at Sony and will be fixed in the next update. As far, the problem MIGHT be due to the French version of Windows XP but I have to make a test to be sure. |

Now that you mention it... I've also got XP French version. I've got display problems with Sound Forge 6.0. My "MB available" and my db indicators (not the meters, but the numbers on the left side) get buggy. My indicators reset to -inf and my MBs are strange looking characters. I spoke to Sony and the tech rep suggested that it might be fixable by setting the Unicode option to english. Unfortunately for me, it wasn't. Maybe it would work for you. Solved ! I don't know if changing unicode could have solved the problem because I had already reinstalled the English version of Windows XP when I read MyST's answer. Anyway... Obviously, this problem comes with the French version of Windows XP. With the English version, everything is displayed correctly. Thanks to everyone for your advices. |

I have a French release of XP too but i've never have any display issues... I think the bug is gone because something was corrupt in your display drivers, your motherboard's. Anyway, i'm glad to see i'm not the only frenchy in this forum |
