Hey, Im currently thinking about buying this
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3655029099&category=182
Its sound forge 7,cd architecht, and noise reduction. Its academically priced, the seller said to contact sonicfoundry to see if there was any diffrences in the academically priced and full versions. Any body know anything about this that can help me out? I do not want it if its not the full version. I was going to import my beats from reason and record over top of them. I would like to have it here intime for my new laptop

My wife has the academic version of a different major software. It is indeed the full version, not some 'lite' version. The difference lies in the pricing: She had to prove she was a teacher in order to purchase.

It would be a funny thing if they sold a "lite" version to professors of music, etc.

No, not the way you're thinking. Sony Vegas, on the other hand, is a full-featured multi-track application...and also a killer video editor.

There is no difference.

You might want to compare the license for the full version vs the academic version. I'm sure the functionality will be identical, but the license for the academic version is often more restrictive. MS development tools as a case in point: there is no functionality difference between the Visual Studio Professional Edition and the academic edition, but the license for the academic edition says that you cannot sell anything that you develop using the tool.
