Good evening all, first post and its exciting to be in this community. Basically, I'm looking for any tips on linking a Korg Triton into Acid for A.) midi note recording and B.) using the midi track to trigger the right audio out of the Triton for recording back into Acid through my Delta 1010 card. My friend has lost his Triton midi manual and I'm struggling following my manual for Acid's perspective on midi - we're in bad shape right now. :) Any tips would be greatly appreciated!! |

First make sure you have current 1010 drivers, I see M-audio has updated their site. (I have not tried the new driver yet) http://www.midiman.net/index.php?do=support.drivers Hook up triton MIDI I/O to delta 1010 I/O (Does triton have USB?) Go to ACID options/preferences. Under audio select M-audio Delta ASIO Under the MIDI tab select the Delta MIDI ports. In the ACID track right click and select insert MIDI track (save the file name to some folder) click the record button, at the bottom, select delta midi, click start and start recording. I skipped over stuff, but hopefully this helps. You can also hook up the korg and just record the audio. ACID is not a very good MIDI app, if you are really into MIDI you should try something like sonar. Also, depending on your system, you may find that it is safest to convert your MIDI tracks to audio right away, if you have a bunch of vsti and/or midi tracks, ACID can stumble. |

You can also go to KORG's download site and pick up the Triton's manual. I'd just like to say that if you're into looping with MIDI, ACID is more your speed (since, of course, this is the way MIDI playback/recording in ACID was designed in the first place). ;o) HTH, Iacobus ------- RodelWorks - Original Music for the Unafraid mD's ACIDplanet Page |

Cool - thanks for the input guys!! Unfortunately, I don't use any loops but my own so 99.999% of my useage in Acid is for recording and mix-down. I hate to say it (especially here!!) but after looking into Sonar I may need to make a program change soon. |

There's nothing wrong with going with SONAR. You essentially use what works for you. (A lot of users actually use both SONAR and ACID together; SONAR's better at MIDI, while ACID is better at looping.) Just remember that we'll be here if you need us. ;o) HTH, Iacobus ------- RodelWorks - Original Music for the Unafraid mD's ACIDplanet Page |
