Subject:Error message after registration

I had to reinstall SF7.0a due to a driver corruption (or so said Sony tech support). So I downloaded the demo as instructed and then entered my serial number. It then says it needs to reboot to finish the registration processwhich it does but again comes up with the registration screen fully filled out. I hit enter and it comes back thanking me for registering but then displays the following error message: "An error occurred starting Sound Forge. Error 0x8004e153 (message missing)" with only an OK button. When I click OK the box simply goes away. If I restart SF the same thing happens. I uninstalled and tried to install from scratch, same result. Help!

Sorry can't give you a quick help on that one, but I assume you have got back to SoSoFo ?

You should be able to direct email as a response to your intial reply, rather than going thru the whole she-bang again.

This problem was resolved by phone support. It appears I got bad advice. Since I purchased over the web and was having some problems I was told to download and reinstall the trial version of SF7 then unlock it with my serial number which didn't work. Instead the second tech told me to use the upgrade version the same way and it worked fine.
