I've used Acid for several years and have loved it. Untill last week I had never tried the VSTi feature. Well, I did and it was great! Wonderful!

but... I had a little problem. Cheese Machine and Ticky Clav specificly. When I click on them to load them they just disappear. If I close and re-open Acid then they are back.. at least until I click on them again.

I keep thinking that I must be doing something wrong, but I can't think what. All the other VSTis work great. Any ideas?

OK. Last night the ticky Clav worked, but still no Cheesemachine. I'm wondering if maybe one or more of my other VSTis are not playing nice with Cheesemachine. I'm going to try that tonight.

Don't know what it could be. I've used Cheese Machine quite a bit (and TickyClav slightly less) with ACID and not had a single problem with it.

Sorry,
Joel

Thanks Joel. I'll keep at it.

I got it back!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is what I had to do:

run regedit
locate the following key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Sonic Foundry\ACID\4.0\Metrics\VSTi Synth

Then delete the entire "VSTi Synth" key.

Restart ACID and it rebuilds the VSTi folder. I still don't know what I did wrong to begin with... Maybe some poorly made VSTi... I did clean out the VSTi folder. But it works now, and all is right with the world.

There was an earlier post about this.
