Reply by: coolout Date:1/15/2004 3:26:15 PM i'm thinking summer NAMM will be the big moment. i hope sonyfo will have something big planned because apple it taking acid bit by bit. apple's soundtrack was acid 2.0 for the mac and now garageband looks alot like a hyped-up acid 3.0 or a little brother to acid 4.0. (acid loop composition meet recoding meets virual instrumnents) if this crap was out 3 years ago i probably wouldn't had jumped ship to windows but alas the grass is always greener. i'm glad apple is finally getting it together and becoming competitive. when my friends who all have mac-based protools setups talk about the new apple apps it's fun to tell them this functionality was on the windows platform 3 years ago. i wonder how similar the apple loops file format is to acidized wav because it's same concept. now logic supports the apple loops format which makes it like sonor i guess. after screwing everyone on the migration from os9 to os x it took the emagic buyout just to make audio a priority on the mac. i will say for all the acid developers out there the pressure is on but we know you guys can do it. at least leave ableton live in the dust because those m-audio guys are some cocky SOBs. i also hope you guys do extensive outside beta testing so we don't get bugs-a-rama like when acid 4.0 first dropped. there should be a open beta test signup like video games have. you know where you list your gear/setup/experience and you have to be picked to beta test. that would be cool.
