Subject:EXTRACTING AUDIO FROM cd

Everytime I try to extract audio from a CD I created into Soundforge it has servious clipping. These are the same songs i worked on in soundforge before. burned to CD and now bringing them back in clipping so i have to nromalize them again, to bring it down, why is this?

"Normalise them to bring them down" ?!!! If the digital waveform data was 'clipped', then normalising ( or any other method of volume reduction/attenuation) would result in the same clipped shape, but lower peak level.

How do they sound on CD ? I can't imagine what could be wrong here other that a broken drive, or that you are recording (with overload) rather than extracting ?
