Subject:recording my records

hey there i have sound forge 6.0. i want to record my records on to it, i have my mixer connected tomy computer so i can hear them coming out of the computers speakers, but when i press record, it records nothing. what am i doing wrong?

1. In SF: check Options>Preferences>Wave Select the desired Record/Playback sound card(s).
2. In Windows: Double click the Windows speaker icon.
Select Options>Properties>Recording. Under Show the following volume controls. Check mark the source: Line. Click: OK Select the "Recording Control" source & check-mark the box: Line. Adjust input level controls for optimal record levels while viewing the Sound Forge record window meter. Ctrl+R
