I tried the trial version of Batch Converter 5.0, but it doesn't recognize and songs on a cd I just bought, Sara McLachlan's Afterglow. Explorer also doesn't show any media files, so it may be an anti-piracy scheme. But using EZ CD Ripper, it found them and ripped them fine? Any thoughts? I'm surely not going to buy this if it can't find the files. |

jackj, I hope the following two things will help to answer your questions in full. 1) Batch Converter cannot extract tracks directly from a CD and convert them. The audio CD tracks must be extracted to WAV files on the hard drive before Batch Converter can convert them. 2) I have seen multi-session CD's that have a small, empty volume burned to the disc as some sort of anti-piracy measure, but virtually any CD ripping software would still be able to access (and extract) the tracks, as they do not rely on the windows '.cda' virtual files that show in Explorer. Hope this helps, Nate |
