Subject:Help with drum/bass loops

Hello,

I have Acid Pro 4.0 and I am trying to create a drum track from acid loops. When I slow down the tempo (~80 bpm), certain loops/one shots/etc.. sound like a really bad chorus or some other effect is one them. I have no effects chosen. This happens for things like the snare and bass, but not on the kick, toms, etc. Anyone know what is going on and how to fix it? Thanks!

if you try and slow down loops too much (>40 bpm for example) you might get some noticable flanging and echoing from the time stretching algorithm. you can however manually play around with the stretching parameters for the different loops in the acid track parameter window and reduce these quite a bit in most cases.

How do you do that? I mean, tell me how to play around with the streatching parameters.

Double click on the track and click the stretch tab.

Select the track that has the loop you want to work on and then right click and select "Properties..." You need to have your mouse in the front of the track where the Track number, name, vol slider, etc. is located.

You see the Track Properties at the bottom most likely get brought to front.
Select the Stretch tab. Play around with the "Force divisions at:" setting and the transient detection %. You can also add and delete markers in the loop itself or move them around. You can do some real magic this way.

Acid Pro defaults "force divisions" at 16th notes. Almost 95% of almost EVERY stretching artifact problem you encounter can be resolved by simply setting this to eighth notes, instead of 16ths - particularly when the loop tempo is slower than the project tempo.

Most Drum libraries also include OneShots. If your project tempo is far SLOWER than the loop tempos (it is easier for Acid to "take away" than it is to "add"), you might want to create your own beat with OneShots.
