I’m looking to purchase Screenblast ACID 4.0 which claims it comes with Screenblast Sound Forge. Unfortunately, there is no product description for Screenblast Sound Forge on the Sony site. It describes Sound Forge 7 and Sound Forge Studio 6 but not the Screenblast version. (this is only mentioned on the Screenblast ACID page) What I want to know is, will the version of Sound Forge that comes with Screenblast ACID have the “ACID Loop creation tools” that come with Sound Forge Studio? What is the difference between Sound Forge Studio and Screenblast Sound Forge? If it does contain the equivalent of Sound Forge Studio, my next question is, if I buy the download version, how do I get Screenblast Sound Forge? Does it allow you to download that too? I see there is a content CD of loops that they will send you, is Sound Forge on that? Thanks in advance for any information you may have. ~jr |

My only suggestions are to either call customer service on monday, or download the PDF product brochure (under downoads/free stuff) and see if that answers your question. M EDIT: I just downloaded the product brochure and it does mention creating loops for use in Acid. But I'd still suggest confirming with CS |

Thanks, I didn’t think about looking in the downloadable manual. It explains how to set ACID properties in Sound Forge (with a screen shot!). I’ll still wait until Monday to see how I can get Sound Forge with the downloadable option but it looks promising. Thanks again, ~jr |

If its anything like the deal I got for Acid Pro- you probably will get something akin to Sound Forge Studio 6 as a separate disc, bundled with screenblast- It's not a bad program to start with but, after a while, you will need to shell out the real bucks for Sound Forge 6 or 7 (full versions) I could go on about why but you will really need to find this out on your own - Sound Forge is worth every penny, by the way. |

I already realize that it doesn’t support DirectX plug-ins so I can’t use all the FX that come with my Vegas4+DVD in Sound Forge Studio but I can in Sound Forge (full version). I guess I could always apply those in Vegas but you’re right... I’m probably just postponing the inevitable. I would obviously like to have ACID Pro and be able to use all those plug-ins in ACID as well but these tools cost too much for a hobbyist like myself. I agree they are well worth the money if I’m bringing in income from using them but right now I’m not so I can’t afford it. :( ~jr |
