Subject:FX problem when upgrade from 3 to Pro 4

I just installed Pro 4.0 and when I opened a 3.0 file I got a series of these errors: "The FX plug-in "Sonic Foundry ACID FX" on track #1 is not allowed." How can that be? It's a newer ediition! THx, Rick |

Strange.... It has the same error for ALL 19 tracks, most of which I don't even think have any FX on them. A few have delay or distant echoes. |

Can the project be opened? If so, does it playback OK? I've had a couple older projects do things like that to me, but they were OK. If they playback OK, try backing up the old project (put it into another folder) and save under ACID Pro 4.0. Close the project (CTRL+F4 is the shortcut), then reopen it. If there aren't any errors and you can playback OK, I wouldn't worry too much about it. (Note that you cannot open the project in 3.0 once you do this, so always backup the original project first before you attempt to save under 4.0.) Rick, Are the Acid 3 files Acid Music or Pro? This happened to me as well. Acid Music (or Screenblast now, I guess) has its built-in plugins. Acid Pro doesn't have these, because it supports DX plugins. That's why "Pro" is not able to load the plugins. If you're married to the older tracks, you'll have to continue to work with & render them in Acid 3. Or you can take the time to re-apply new effects in 4 Pro, which should give you a much better end result, as, IMO, the Acid FX weren't all that hot. |

It plays, but all the effecs I put on the file in 3 are lost. |

Are the Acid "3" files Pro or Music? Again, Acid FX are built into Acid Music. they are not part of Acid PRO, so it will not be able to load them. |
