Do an internet search. You'll be surprised at what you will find. But IMO, the Sony stuff is among the best.

There are some decent thrid-party producers out there. There are also a lot of hacks. I'm surprised at how many people put together some great-sounding loops and fail to acidize them properly. The lack of Key metadata in tonal loops has kept me from buying many companies' libraries that otherwise seem to be of great quality.

Most loop producers (including Sony) give samples. The best thing to do is download the sample loops and play with them.

Check out peace love productions and acidfanatic. Those are two good places to start after sony.

hark productions (www.harkproductions.com) has some very useful and high quality material...
every friday afternoon, you can download 8-10 free loops tweaked up into a song from www.acidplanet.com. You could also go over to the sony digital loop librairies page and d'l all of the samples for a quick variety of material. I've also found the stuff at Big Fish Audio (www.bigfishaudio.com) and Peace Love Productions (www.peaceloveproductions.com) to be very good...In general, I've found the loop subscription sites like platinum loops and rock loops suck for any amount of money that you put into them.

I'm glad you said that about subscription services. I've been curious. Has anyone else had experience with them?
