Subject:Opinions of M-Audio Revolution Soundcard

I'm thinking of changing my soundcard (I have a Soundblaster Audigy EX card) and wonder what people think of M-Audio's Revolution 7.1 Card. Are there better cards to be had for a similar price? Are there any issues with Acid and drivers I should be aware of? The reason I mention this card is that I live in Japan and a computer shop has this in stock so I can get it easily, but should I?

I really haven't heard anything myself, but I'd take anything over Creative's offerings regardless. ;o)

I believe there are possible issues with drivers from M-Audio and VIA chipsets.
An alternative is the Turtle Beach Santa Cruz.

If I was to opt for a consumer card in that price range, I'd go for the Revo.
The reviews seem good.

Based on a general recommendation of M-Audio equipment from SPOT at the DV Expo, I bought the Revolution 7.1 card for $99 from an Internet dealer and I love it. It integrates perfectly with Vegas as far as I can see and drives my Monsoon MH-505 Surround Sound speakers perfectly as well. I will never ever buy anything from Creative Labs again after experiencing their total inability to supply functioning XP drivers for their older products so it is nice to find a company like M-Audio that is putting out a quality product in the consumer price range.
