absynth 2.04 and ACID save patches -ACID Product Family

Subject:absynth 2.04 and ACID save patches Posted by: L25 Date:12/22/2003 11:16:37 AM I installed the 2.04 patch. When I use absynth as a VSTi in ACID4e, it does not save the patches. I save the file in acid, close it, then reopen it and all instances of absynth revert back to the default 0 patch. I have been trying to overcome this since absy v1.0. I got a response from the creator of absynth who said (editted) "Sorry I don't have ACID, I'll have to ask NI about this. There are 2 ways a vst host can store plug settings, either remember the knob/slider/button positions, or let the plug create its own blob of data. Absynth uses the later method, and it's conceivable that ACID doesn't support this." I came up with a work around. For each instance of absynth in ACID, I make a custom absynth bank with only one preset patch in it or at least the one I want as patch 0. This seams to work OK.
