I just upgraded my computer and now Acid crashes everytime I try to render a project. It doesn't just crash, it SHUTS DOWN my PC. I have been trying to render a very simple WAV file that is due today and it gets to about 20% and crashes, everytime. I am at a loss as to what to do. I need to be up and running ASAP. I upgraded to an Athlon XP3000+ with a Gigabyte 7N400Pro2 MB with 1.5GB of Corsair memory. I used all top of the line components this time when I upgraded. I have 2 soundcards, a SB Audigy and a Delta TDIF. Everything has the latest drivers and works perfectly everywhere else. Ie: Soundforge does not crash when rendering, etc. Windows XP is fully up to date, everything else runs smooth. Can anyone PLEASE help. I MUST get this up and running. Thanks. |

So of course I kinda figure this one out, but there is still cause for concern. I forgot to mention that I was using a 3rd party plug-in while rendering. I have never had a problem with the rverb before, but taking this plug out of the mix solved the problem. I then went to Soundforge and tried to use rverb there, and it crashed. Weird? I haven't tried the plug with any other software to see if its just a Sony/SF issue or not. All other Waves plugs work fine. Is this a problem perhaps with the Nvidia chipsets on new MBs? Any help or advice here would rock. |

tmasten, What 3rd party reverb plug-in was it? (from what company?) Do you not like the Acid reverb plug-in? |
