Issue or Known Bug ?

When i select a file in the Explorer Bar, .wav or .aif, even if its size is only 200 Kb, it's taking 1 sec before it gets played... Weird...

Same thing but a bit faster with Sound Forge.
Whereas in Cool Edit Pro (Adobe Audition) for example, it previews instantly...

My Config :
Acid Pro 4.0f
P4 2,0 Ghz
1024Mb of Ram
M-Audio Delta 44 (@ 512 Samples, Asio Drivers used in Acid)
Tweaked PC (www.musicxp.net's tweak : PC Standard, etc...)

Any Ideas ?

That may be because ACID might be applying its stretching abilities on the sample depending on the material. (Or it may be just trying to read any ACIDized info embedded in the sample; if there isn't any, ACID makes an educated guess.)

Ok i understand. And do you have an idea about the way to desactivate that ? Browsing long sample lists is a pain in the a** if i loose 1 sec each time i clic on a sample in the explorer window :(

Did you know that you can select a number of loop files in the current folder displayed in the media explorer, and it will automatically play each file in succession? This even works while you are playing your project from the ACID 4 timeline. Might improve your workflow.

TSW,

I knew that trick but it takes as much time when i do a multiple-selection. 1 sec btw all sample... This is a minor subjective issue but... if you have a trick in regedit...

The idea is that when i'm playing my song, i have a huge snare sample library. Snares are always a matter of "feeling" when you're making a track. So i'd like to clic it as i'd push a mpc2000 button and i hear "Kshhh" right away. I know that you'll suggest me to use a VST to reproduce that trick (N.I. Battery, i know).

But as i suggested before, one of the improvement of Acid would be to quicken-up this looong process of searching and matching.
