Subject:OT: Taking MIDI from Anvil Studio to ScreenBlast Acid 4.0

I'm having trouble taking a modified MIDI from Anvil Studio to SB Acid 4.0. I want to use a sound font for the MIDI file, and I am able to specify this in Anvil. But when I play the saved MIDI in SB Acid, I get no output. The notes are there, but there's no sound. Can anyone walk me through this process? Thanks, David |

You have to route MIDI to a soft synth of some sort in order to hear it. Add a soft synth using the "Insert Soft Synth" button in the upper right of the Mixer's window, then route the MIDI to the synth by clicking the device selector button for the specific MIDI track in the track list. You can route MIDI to a DLS or VSTi soft synth as well as to a ReWire device like Propellerhead's Reason. (You must also enable real-time MIDI if it's not on. ALT+F7 is the shortcut that toggles.) ACID does not have support for SoundFont technology, so you basically cannot hear what was originally done in Anvil. (Sorry.) I don't know if screeblast has VSTi, if it does you can get a sound font player as a VSTi. rgcAudio makes a free one. |

Oh, damn. I have to correct myself. JTXX000 is right; Screenblast ACID 4.0 does not have VSTi support like ACID Pro 4.0 does. SB ACID 4.0 only has MIDI track playback with DLS soft synth support. Sorry for the confusion. Iacobus ------- RodelWorks - Original Music for the Unafraid mD's ACIDplanet Page |
