Why SONY cant do this? a new program with the audio features of Vegas and the acid functions. And a Midi sequencer, Vst and DXi. LOGIC is now only for Mac . Sony could fill this space. SONAR do that , but the edition of audio and loops is faster in Vegas and Acid . |

This subject has been touched on many times before. While the "all-in-one" idea is a good one, one has to remember why ACID, Vegas and Sound Forge are not together as one app. Each is suited and geared to a very specific purpose—ACID for looping, Vegas for multitracking, and Sound Forge for digital audio editing. I honestly can't imagine, for instance, Sound Forge being in the same app, especially when you consider the very many tools Sound Forge has. It'd be a jumble and a half. Personally, I'd rather just work on one aspect of production at a time. And it's also not like they don't have the ability to work with each other to begin with. ACID and Vegas share a similar (but not the same) GUI, and Sound Forge can be brought up in a moment's notice to edit any digital audio in either ACID or Vegas. There's also MIDI sync and, of course, the ability to render out of one app and bring it into the other app. One also has to consider the needs of the individual user; many users who use ACID also use SONAR, for example. Since SONAR already has multitracking capability, one wouldn't want to buy an all-in-one ACID/Vegas/Sound Forge combo just to get ACID's features. (Would they?) the world looks a lot different when you are running a studio tho. All your competitors using brand x app are able to record midi into their apps and the customers remember this. Also the ability to change tempos in a file is a HUGE loss for Vegas I say : Integration NOW! |

I dont want an all in one program. I´m agree if its too much for a musician , a multitrack of video, and fx video tools like Vegas Video, but we need a Multitrack recorder function like Vegas, the integration of acid loops, a MIDI sequencer with vsti and dxi, and the integration of control sufaces. |

Yes, I sat with Sonar 3 producer the other day, it looks great, took a while to find things, so inspiration went out the window...but still I went back to Acid Pro...... just wishing it had the needed features.. |

I would like to see them at least work together via rewire. |

I like them the way they are. Having them all open at the same time it's almost like they're the same app. I only wish it were easier to open projects that originated in Acid in Vegas. B. |

**I only wish it were easier to open projects that originated in Acid in Vegas.** This is useful , but here is an example. :I import an Acid Session to Vegas , i record drums , voice, and choirs, there and now my inspiration say , " i like to introduce some loops and more loops ,ok we import all session to acid , and work there , then somebody of the band say "i dont like the drum part, Let´s record again," Import to Vegas . IT´s not easier in the new VEGACID? I dont say "Acid and Vegas to the Garbage" I only say :I NEED ANOTHER CHOICE INSTEAD SONAR AND CUBASE WITH VEGAS AND ACID FEATURES |

I use Vegas, Acid, Forge & Sonar. Wouldn't be able to give any one of them up. Wouldn't want to see any of them combined (read: watered down) with another. The whole "VEGACIFORGE" debate is a tired one. If you're a professional, you have more than $50 in your annual budget for software. That's just the way it is. Water down the apps, you lose the people who pay to keep up, you lose the $$ support to keep the product going. If I had my way, MIDI & Audio recording would be taken out of Acid entirely, so they can concentrate on making it a better loop-based composing program - which is what it was meant to be in the first place. I say this because of this: http://mediasoftware.sonypictures.com/Products/showproduct.asp?PID=704&FeatureID=6553&FeatureTL=6317 I dont buy acid 4, I was upgrade to SONAR 2, now Im with SONAR PRODUCER, I still have Acid 3. I think comparing ACID vs. SONAR its like comparing Easy CD Creator vs. CD Architect . ACID hasnt multitrack recording mainly. Why Acid vs. Sonar? I like to see a SONY AUDIO MIDI SEQUENCER, Its My SUGGESTION |

ZAZKUASH (and to some point, Jess), Think of it this way: What exists right now in ACID 4.0 has to fit into its existing paradigm—which is looping. First and foremost, that's what it does and what it's meant to do. Doing otherwise would not make ACID...well...ACID. It would become something else. ACID, up until version 3.0, one could not even work with MIDI tracks. (The only MIDI feature was MIDI sync in the Pro version.) ACID could only work with digital audio. And then, of course, was the fact that ACID did not work as a true multitracker like Vegas does. (That fact still remains today. As I've said before, each app in the Sony line concentrates on a specific purpose.) So, basically, when ACID introduced MIDI tracks, you worked with MIDI exactly the same way you do with digital audio (with some minor exceptions, as MIDI works differently)—you looped it, recorded it, chopped it, etc. Quite frankly, I don't want to see an intergrated app. The reasons are many, but the main reason is usability. Vegas and ACID may share a similar GUI, but there are enough differences that would constitute a change in workflow. I also don't want to see recording disappear in ACID. (It's been there all along anyway.) I usually create my custom loops in this manner, preferring to sync up with the rest of my project, bounce down (which effectively ACIDizes the take) and then externally tweak in Sound Forge.
