Fellow Loopers- Is it possible to use MIDI CC to control DirectX FX knobs within Acid and automate/record them? Thanks! Scott |

Sorry, but no. DirectX FX (those that are actually automatable) can only be automated manually. HTH, Iacobus ------- RodelWorks - Original Music for the Unafraid mD's ACIDplanet Page |

Actually, this is possible, provided that the DirectX effect in question responds to MIDI CC's. We'll use OhmForce Frohmage as an example. With this particular plugin, MIDI CC assignments are stored in the config file in the plugin's installation directory. Creating a config file is quite easy. First, open your project in Acid and add Fromage to the track or bus of your choice. On the plugin's GUI, look in the upper right hand corner for a hammer/screwdriver button. Click it, and the menu will appear. For "input", select your MIDI controller device. Now select "Auto Bind", which is essentially MIDI learn. Return to the plugin interface and click on the first button you want to assign. Twiddle the respective knob on your controller. Click another button on the plugin. Twiddle. Repeat as necessary. Now goto the plugin menu again and save. Everything's connected. Cool. To automate, simply record a new MIDI track with the MIDI controller as the input to the new recording. That's it. Again, this only works if the plugin supports MIDI CC's. Regards, Nick |
